To ensure the best quality possible, Karibee Rice is certified by ISO 22000:2018 and meticulously maintains guidelines set by the body. Parboiling at our Rice Milling Complex involves hydrothermal treatment of the paddy before milling. This is done in three stages: soaking, steaming, and drying. At Karibee Rice, the paddy kernel is soaked, steamed, then dried to 14% moisture using a biomass furnace before it is milled and stored.

As with all our products, Karibee’s brown rice is produced according to standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Our Brown Rice production involves the hull of the paddy kernel being removed – the least damaging process to its nutritional value.

Our process of manufacturing ISO 22000:2018 quality white rice begins with the removal of the husk, bran, and germ. This alters the flavor, texture, and appearance of the rice. Then, during the milling process, the rice is polished which results in the kernel having a bright, white, and shiny appearance. Since white rice is resistant to oxidation, removing the bran layers helps to prevent spoilage and increase its cooking quality, hence, its longer shelf life.
